Accepting and approving a $20,000.00 grant agreement from the Volcker Alliance to market the City for purposes of improving recruitment of job candidates for City positions; estimating and appropriating $20,000.00 in the General Grants Fund; designating requisitioning authority; and recognizing an accelerated effective date.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That a grant award agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Human Resources, and the Volcker Alliance, whereby the Alliance will provide funding in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00 for the City to develop and implement a marketing campaign to improve recruitment of job candidates for City positions and share relevant findings and recommendations with the Alliance, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the agreement in substantial form is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the revenue in the following account of the General Grants Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:
23-2580-140001-487985-G14RECRUIT Private Foundation Grant $20,000.00
Section 3. That the sum of $20,000.00 is hereby appropriated in the following account of the General Grants Fund:
23-2580-145001-B-G14RECRUIT Private Foundation Grant $20,000.00
Section 4. That the Director of Human Resources is designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 23-2580-145001.
Section 5. That this ordinance is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(C) of the City Charter, in that it appropriates money, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
