BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That Chapter 70, Code of Ordinances of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, is hereby amended by enacting a new Section 70-87, Privileges of drivers of authorized city vehicles, to read as follows:

 

Sec. 70-87.  Privileges of drivers of authorized city vehicles.

 

The driver of an authorized city vehicle conducting official city business may park or stand in any parking metered space without payment, may exceed posted limits in a parking timed area, may park in any City surface parking lot or city-managed lot with the exception of parking spaces or lots managed by the Aviation Department or its designee. Official city business shall mean any matter over which the city has any authority, administrative duty, or advisory duty and which the driver of the vehicle is involved with in connection with the drivers position with the city or within the scope of the driver’s employment with the city. The director may promulgate rules and regulations related to this section.
