Recognizing and honoring Steven Kolb, CEO of Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc., and his contributions to the American Fashion Industry.

WHEREAS, the world renowned Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA) has been in existence for over sixty years, and has as its mission to strengthen the impact of American fashion in the global economy; and

WHEREAS, the CFDA continues to inspire emerging and established fashion designers, and support the American fashion industry through education, networking and business development programs; and

WHEREAS, Steven Kolb, CEO, has provided innovative and steady leadership to the organization, leading the entire fashion industry in setting exemplary standards concerning diversity, equity and inclusion; and

WHEREAS, as part of its outreach, the CFDA has developed the "CFDA Connects" initiative, to support key regional fashion weeks and organizations throughout the nation; and

WHEREAS, CFDA selected Kansas City Fashion Week as one of its inaugural "CFDA Connects" fashion communities, thereby providing small businesses in Kansas City's fashion-related industries with industry leading education, support, resources and networking; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize Mr. Steven Kolb and the Council of Fashion Designers of America for their innovative leadership in the fashion industry, and for partnering with Kansas City Fashion Week through its "CFDA Connects" initiative; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr. Steven Kolb and Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc., with the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for their dedication to America's regional fashion industries.
