WHEREAS, Cydney Millstein has spent her career at her self-founded firm, Architectural & Historical Research, LLC, as an educator, author, scholar, historian, activist, advocate, researcher, and narrator making a significant impact on our understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of the built environment throughout the US; and

WHEREAS, Cydney excels in the preparation of National Register of Historic Places Nominations and Historic Tax Credit applications that have secured local projects such as the Power House at Kansas City's Union Station; and

WHEREAS, Cydney has had the opportunity to lend her expertise to several outstanding local projects like the National WWI Museum and Memorial, the Kansas City Parks and Boulevards Historic District, the Kansas City International Airport (KCI), and the Todd Bolender Center for Dance and Creativity; and

WHEREAS, Cydney has been given the honor to contribute to many esteemed national projects like the Obama Presidential Center (Chicago, IL), National Historic Landmark Nominations for The Rotary Jail (Crawfordville, IN and Council Bluffs, IA), and the Army National Guard, National Guard Bureau (Washington, D.C.); and

WHEREAS, Cydney's dedication to excellence in architectural and historic preservation has been recognized locally and nationally with awards, such as the Urban Hero Award from the Downtown Council, two National Trust for Historic Preservation Honor Awards, the David Coffin Grant from Princeton University, and a State Historical Society of Missouri Brownlee Award among many others; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend their most sincere appreciation to Cydney Millstein for her years...
