Honoring John Green on the occasion of his retirement after 10 years and 8 months of dedicated service with the City of Kansas City.

WHEREAS, John has been employed by the City of Kansas City since May 9, 2011, when he started his career in the Kansas City Aviation Department as an Assistant to the Director, later becoming a Deputy Director of the Finance Division; and

WHEREAS, through John's years of work in the Finance division, he has improved airport liquidity from $67M to $146M in 2021; and

WHEREAS, among the many ways John has served the Aviation Department includes restructuring the airport's outstanding debt along with the financial terms of the then existing use and lease agreement to improve debt service coverage and airport liquidity. He worked with the City's Finance Department along with other financial professionals to develop the Airport's Master Bond Ordinance, negotiating the financial terms of the new airline use and lease agreement and communicating with credit rating agencies to improve the Airport's credit rating which allowed the Airport to finance the new terminal facility at a cost significantly below the original forecasting model estimates; and

WHEREAS, John has established many professional connections in his role with the department, earning respect and admiration from all. Additionally he received an award from the Kansas City Business Journal in June of 2018 recognizing him as CFO of the year; and

WHEREAS, in retirement, John plans to stay in Kansas City and spend more time with his wife Nancy, his twin teenage daughters Rachel and Hannah as they begin their transition away from High School into college and his youngest daughter Abigail as she discovers what her interests are; NOW, THEREFORE,
