Honoring and recognizing Amelia McIntyre on her retirement from the Office of the City Attorney after more than 11 years of dedicated service to the City.

WHEREAS, Ms. McIntyre has forty-one years of legal experience in both the private and public sectors and has provided outstanding legal services to several City departments throughout her career at the City Attorney's Office since 2010; and

WHEREAS, Ms. McIntyre has concentrated her practice in the real estate area providing invaluable legal advice that will be difficult to match for even the best legal minds; and

WHEREAS, Ms. McIntyre's expertise in real estate law has contributed to a vast number of complex successful transactions for all City departments including but not limited to the acquisition of the Country Club Right of Way from the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority to enable the southern expansion of the streetcar along Main Street, the transfer of the former Kemper Arena, now known as Hy-Vee Arena, redevelopment of the 18th and Vine District, and the acquisition of property for redevelopment such as 12th and Broadway to address the needs at the Barney Allis Plaza Garage, among many others; and

WHEREAS, throughout her career Ms. McIntyre has evidenced and demonstrated the highest standard for professionalism, ethical behavior and leadership in the City Attorney's Office and the community; and

WHEREAS, Ms. McIntyre is looking forward to traveling and spending more time with her sons in her retirement; and

WHEREAS, Ms. McIntyre has counseled the City's elected officials and staff at all levels in an exemplary manner, has provided strong leadership and mentorship to her colleagues, and retires from the City with the sincere admiration and gratitude from her colleagues and staff for her friendship and service; NOW, THEREFORE,
