Recognizing Larry Kime for strengthening a community through culinary delights and a spirit of generous giving in Kansas City.

WHEREAS, in April 2021, Larry Kime opened Cliff’s Tap House, located at 3044 Gillham Road, Kansas City Missouri, focusing on local beer and a fresh food menu featuring regional ingredients and products; and

WHERAS, Cliff’s Tap House, named after Larry’s late grandfather Cliff Forsland, offers a brewhouse-style menu that features items like waffle-cut gorgonzola potatoes with bacon, half-pound burgers made with local beef, a salmon BLT with Cajun mayo on toasted brioche, or spaghettini with a roasted beet sauce, goat cheese, walnuts, and basil, among other items; and

WHEREAS, the Mission of Cliff’s Tap House  is to create a purpose driven restaurant that aims to connect with the neighborhood and community through exemplary food, beverage and service; and

 WHEREAS, every Thursday Larry Kime donates 20% of all Cliff’s Tap House sales to support local charities; and

WHEREAS, Don Bosco Center, Reconciliation Services, Literacy KC, De La Salle Education Center, Ronald McDonald House, and Jackson County CASA, have been recipients of Larry Kime’s generosity; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize the compassion and generosity of Larry Kime and the Cliff’s Tap House team; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Larry Kime with the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for continuation of this successful enterprise.
