Accepting and approving a $10,000.00 grant award from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to provide funding for the Summer Food Services Program for Children; and authorizing an expenditure not to exceed $10,000.00 from funds previously appropriated.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health (the “Director”), and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (“DHSS”) pursuant to which DHSS will provide funding for the Summer Food Services Program for Children throughout the Kansas City, Missouri, area for the period beginning May 31, 2021, through September 15, 2021, for an amount not to exceed $10,000.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part by reference.

Section 2. That the Director is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $10,000.00 in funds previously appropriated to Account No. 22-2480-505417-A-G50541721 for the contract.

 I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
