Accepting and approving a $113,750.00 federal grant with the University of Missouri-Kansas City to provide funding for lead poisoning technical study and partnerships; estimating and appropriating $113,750.00 in the Health Grants Fund; and designating requisitioning authority.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That an agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health (the "Director"), and the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) pursuant to which UMKC will provide funding for partnerships with Children's Mercy Hospital and Clinics and the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department to develop an assessment tool to determine the risk of lead poisoning for children and to evaluate the efficacy of common lead hazard control measures in residential housing in Kansas City, Missouri, for the period beginning January 4, 2021, through July 3, 2023, for an amount not to exceed $113,750.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the grant award agreement, in substantial form, is on file with the Director.

Section 2. That revenue in the following account of Health Grants Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

22-2480-500001-472670-G50507124 Identifying Children at at High Risk $113,750.00

Section 3. That the sum of $113,750.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Health Grants Fund in the following amount:

22-2480-505071-A-G50507124 Identifying Children at High Risk $17,550.00
22-2480-505071-B-G50507124 Identifying Children at High Risk 96,200.00
TOTAL $113,750.00

Section 4. That the Director of Health is designated a requisitioning authority for Account No. 22-2480-505071-G50507124 and is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $113,750.00 from funds appropriated to the account.
