WHEREAS, Ryan White Part A and Minority AIDS Initiative funds provide core medical and related support services to improve access and reduce disparities in health outcomes in metropolitan areas hardest hit by HIV/AIDS; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That a one-year grant award amendment in the amount of $3,764,951.00 between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), whereby HRSA will provide funding for persons living with HIV/AIDS in the eleven county KC-TGA (Transitional Grant Area) for a period beginning March 1, 2023 through February 29, 2024, for a total grant award amount not to exceed $4,537,745.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the award, in substantial form is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $3,529,940.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 24-2730-505003-G50244824, and $235,011.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 24-2730-505019-G50501924 for the aforesaid contract.
