RESOLUTION - Recognizing the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City on being selected to host the 45th Annual United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) National Conference from October 6-8, 2024, at the Kansas City Convention Center.

WHEREAS, the 2024 United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce National Conference is the largest gathering of Hispanic business leaders in America. The annual conference brings together local Hispanic chambers of commerce, business leaders, and corporate partners to foster Hispanic economic development for greater American economy; and

WHEREAS, each year, the National Conference attendees engage in policy driven interactive discussions with America's business trailblazers, members of Congress, the in-office administration, and other partners. Informational sessions focus on strenghtening and growing small businesses, networking, and advocating as one unified voice for our country's more than five million Hispanic-owned businesses; and

WHEREAS, the largest gathering of Hispanic business leaders in America, the USHCC National Conference serves as a pivotal platform for fostering economic growth within our community and fueling the American economy; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership and vision of Kansas City businessman Hector Barreto Sr., the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was chartered in 1979 making Kansas City the birth of the national Hispanic chamber of commerce; and

WHEREAS, the nearly 5 million Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States contribute more than $800 billion to the American economy annually; and
