RESOLUTION - Recognizing the achievements of the honorary Miss Missouri USA 2023, Autumn Black.

WHEREAS, Autumn began her pageant journey during her freshman year of college in 2017 when she contested in the Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant hosted by the Zeta Tau Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. She won the title of Miss 1906 and was placed 1st Runner-Up; and

WHEREAS, Autumn furthered her pageantry by competing in her first Miss Missouri USA Pageant representing Lee's Summit in 2019 and was placed in the Top 15; and

WHEREAS, Autumn went on to compete in the Miss Missouri USA Pageant several more times, placing 2nd Runner-Up in 2021 and 1st Runner-Up in 2022. Autumn was officially crowned Miss Missouri USA this year in 2023 while representing Kansas City; and

WHEREAS, Autumn aspires to encourage, motivate and positively influence those around her. Not only has she accomplished this through her pageant journey, but also through her creation of "The Flawless Movement" which empowers women in career readiness, health, and fitness; and through her YouTube channel, OhSoAutumn, that has over 200,000 lifetime views; and

WHEREAS, Autumn graduated with her degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri in May 2020. Shortly thereafter, she moved back home to Kansas City and began working for the Silicon-Valley based technology company, Oracle, within Marketing; and

WHEREAS, Autumn is now a Social Media Lead for Events at Oracle and lives in downtown Kansas City. She also hosts a series titled "Tech-Z" with the company which helps early career professionals secure a job in the tech industry and prepares them for the corporate world; and

WHEREAS, Autumn will be representing the entire state of Missouri on the Miss USA stage this fall, and will continue to serve as an inspiration along her journey; NOW, THEREFORE,
