RESOLUTION - Honoring the 2024 Social Venture Studio cohorts composed of 7 companies along with 14 previous participants who are simultaneously growing great businesses while addressing pressing social issues in Kansas City.

WHEREAS, Social Venture Studio is powered by LaunchKC and made possible by a collaboration between the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, the Downtown Council, Keystone Innovation District, Social Impact Advising Group, and the generosity of the Sunderland Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Social Venture Studio is a nationally unique accelerator program designed to help startups address social, racial, and environmental issues in Kansas City; and

WHEREAS, in April 2024, StoryTailor, Civic Saint, CoBuild, Integrity Capital Management, Connectivities, Good Oak, and Base Academy of Music were the seven (7) startups chosen out of over 100 applicants where each of these companies are innovative and have the potential to impact social, racial, or environmental issues in Kansas City for the next generation; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend their thanks and appreciation to StoryTailor, Civic Saint, CoBuild, Integrity Capital Management, Connectivities, Good Oak, and Base Academy of Music for completing the Social Venture Studio accelerator program and making a positive impact in Kansas City; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Social Venture Studio and the seven (7) entrepreneurs in token of the Mayor and Council’s thanks for their perseverance as entrepreneurs and also their commitment to Kansas City, Missouri.
