Honoring the retirement of Tiffany Wilkinson for 26 years of service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri at the Kansas City Missouri Health Department.

WHEREAS, Tiffany Wilkinson completed her Masters of Public Health in Preventative Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center - with a focus in Epidemiology and her undergraduate degree in Biology - Pre-Medicine from Graceland University in Lamoni, IA; and

WHEREAS, Wilkinson has worked for the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department serving with in-depth knowledge of infectious/communicable diseases and is a strong public health advocate who has helped lead the Health Department through numerous communicable disease issues from A-Z (Anthrax spores found in a postal facility to Zika); and

WHEREAS, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wilkinson served as the KCHD Incident Commander for over two years, leading the Division and Department's response to the first pandemic to occur in over 100 years; and

WHEREAS, over a 26-year career at the Kansas City Missouri Health Department, Wilkinson has received the Missouri Public Health Association Publication Award in 1999, the CLIA Laboratory Director Certification in 2014 and served as a Code for America Fellowship Liaison in 2016; and

WHEREAS, Wilkinson has published in various journal articles on subjects including outreach vaccination events, bio-surveillance, HIV surveillance, and Salmonella outbreaks. She has established a 24-hour duty officer position and grew the Health Division staff by over 20 positions in six years; and

WHEREAS, Tiffany Wilkinson has served the City of Kansas City, Missouri Health Department since 1996, and will retire from the position of Senior Public Health Manager on February 1, 2023; NOW, THEREFORE,
