Amending Chapter 2, Code of Ordinances, “Administration,” by repealing and replacing Section 2-42, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section of like number and subject matter changing the starting time for regular council meetings.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

                     Section 1. That Chapter 2, Code of Ordinances, “Administration,” is amended by repealing Section 2-42, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section of like number and subject matter, to read as follows:

Sec. 2-42. Regular council meetings.

                     The city council shall meet in regular session on Thursday of each week at 2:00 p.m.; provided that when Thursday of any week shall be a legal holiday or a holiday for all regular city employees except members of the firefighting service, as provided in section 2-1098(a), or shall fall on December 24 or 31, the regular meeting of the city council shall be held on Wednesday of that week at the same hour; and provided, further, that the inaugural meeting of the city council after each regular election, as required by article II, section 210, of the Charter, shall constitute the regular meeting of the city council for that week. The place of the meeting shall be the council chamber of city hall.
