RESOLUTION - Honoring Jackson County Circuit Court Civil Process Server Drexel Mack.

WHEREAS, Jackson County Circuit Court employees are valued members of our judicial system that provide critical roles and services for our community in seeking to uphold the rule of law; and 

WHEREAS, Jackson County Circuit Court Civil Process Server Drexel Mack was a twelve-year veteran of the County, dedicated to diligently doing his job to serve papers and carry out judicial orders; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Mack was injured on February 29, 2024 while serving an eviction notice with members of the Independence Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Mack succumbed to his injuries sustained when he and others came under gunfire while serving an eviction notice; and  

WHEREAS, Mr. Mack was a beloved member of the Circuit Court family that took pride in simply doing his job and putting others in the court and community at large before himself; and 

WHEREAS, Mr. Mack’s passing is a loss for his family, friends, fellow Jackson County Circuit Court colleagues and those throughout Jackson County for which he served so honorably, NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby honor the life and service of Jackson County Circuit Court Civil Process Server Drexel Mack; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Drexel Mack’s family in recognition of his dedication and service to the Jackson County Circuit Court.
