RESOLUTION - Recognizing and honoring Stanley Morgan for his distinguished career in public service, his exceptional contributions to the arts, and his enduring commitment to preserving and enriching the cultural heritage of Kansas City.

WHEREAS, Stanley Morgan dedicated twenty-five years of service to the City of Kansas City as a Recreational Leader with the Parks and Recreation Department, positively impacting youth, families, and neighborhoods through recreation, mentorship, and community engagement; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his public service, Mr. Morgan is an accomplished artist whose work includes more than fifty murals and public art installations throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, including murals at aquatic facilities, the Swope Park Bandstand, Bartle Hall, and the notable Step Toe Mural commemorating Penn School, the first African American school in the area; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Morgan's artistic excellence earned him recognition from the City, including the 1998 Support Award from the Director of Aquatics, and his work continues to educate, inspire, and enrich the community through exhibitions and public displays across Kansas City; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, Mr. Morgan has devoted his career to preserving local history, celebrating diversity, and enhancing the cultural landscape of Kansas City through both his public service and artistic contributions; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council of Kansas City, Missouri hereby recognize and honor Stanley Morgan for his exceptional contributions as a public servant, artist, mentor, and community leader, and express their sincere gratitude for his many years of dedicated service and lasting impact on the City of Kansas City; and
