RESOLUTION - Honoring Dalena Taylor on her retirement after 25 years and 4 months of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City with the Neighborhood Services Department serving the residents of City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Ms. Taylor started her career with the City of Kansas City in 1999, as an Information Processor, and promoted into progressively responsible roles as an Accountant and Administrative Officer in the Neighborhood Services Department in the Dangerous Buildings and Neighborhood Preservation Divisions; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Taylor promoted to the leadership position as Division Manager of Neighborhood Preservation in 2014, and finally in 2021 to her current position as Deputy Director; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Taylor was instrumental in passing the bond issue for dangerous buildings to reduce neighborhood blight; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Taylor was crucial in developing the short-term rental ordinance to improve living conditions in neighborhoods by promoting community relationships; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Taylor was a key component in creating the new Neighborhood Services Department and developing an engagement model in mitigating community issues; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Taylor has led an exemplary career dedicated to the service of others and working tirelessly to improve the lives of Kansas City residents; and
WHEREAS, January 1, 2025, marks the last day of Ms. Taylor's career with the Kansas City, Missouri, Neighborhood Services Department; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby extend their sincere appreciation to Dalena Taylor for more than 25 years of dedicated and distinguished service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and to the residents of Kansas City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony ...
