Authorizing a $6,905,104.00 progressive design-build Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 470 with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc., for the Dr. Jeremiah Cameron Park and Westport Stormwater Improvements project for a total contract amount of $9,646,104.00; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, City Council passed Ordinance No. 240349 on April 11, 2024, authorizing a $2,741,000.00 progressive design-build contract with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc., for Phase 1 pre-final design of the proposed stormwater improvements defining project scope, requirements, plans, and specifications to a level of detail adequate for establishment of a Contract Price for Phase 2 services for the Dr. Jeremiah Cameron Park and Westport Stormwater Improvements project; and

WHEREAS, this ordinance is for a $6,905,104.00 Amendment No. 1 for Phase 2 services to complete design, procurement of all materials and equipment, performance of construction services, start-up, testing, and commissioning, and provision of warranty services for the Dr. Jeremiah Cameron Park and Westport Stormwater Improvements project, which is the first of two anticipated amendments for construction of the proposed project improvements; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services Department is authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 470 in the amount of $6,905,104.00, for a total contract amount of $9,646,104.00 with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc., for the Dr. Jeremiah Cameron Park and Westport Stormwater Improvements project, Project No. 82000379. A copy of this amendment is on file in the office of Water Services.

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is authorized to expend up to the sum of $6,905,104.00 from Account No. AL-3625-80805...
