RESOLUTION - Honoring and recognizing Reva Simmons upon her retirement from the Water Services Department after many years of distinguished and dedicated service to the City of Kansas City.

WHEREAS, Reva began her career with the City in the Finance Department and later served in the former Capitol Improvement Management Office (CIMO), demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to public service; and

WHEREAS, Reva faithfully served as a Legislative Aide in the City Council Office, supporting Councilmember Melba Curls and Councilmember Saundra McFadden-Weaver, and also providing assistance to the Office of Councilman Jermaine Reed when needed, ensuring continuity and excellence in service to the citizens of Kansas City; and

WHEREAS, in 2015, Reva transferred to the Water Supply and Treatment Division of the Water Services Department, where she served as a Senior Administrative Assistant until her retirement in February 2026, continuing to exemplify dedication, integrity, and outstanding work ethic; and

WHEREAS, Reva proudly represented the City of Kansas City in Corporate Challenge events, competing in Table Tennis and volunteering at various activities, reflecting her team spirit and commitment to employee engagement; and

WHEREAS, Reva generously gave her time and talents beyond her City duties, volunteering with organizations such as Freedom Inc., NAACP, and National League of Cities, as well as supporting campaigns and fundraisers for former State Senator Kiki Curls; and

WHEREAS, throughout her career, Reva has been known for her positive energy, infectious laughter, and ability to inspire her coworkers to achieve healthy goals-whether by encouraging them to climb the stairs at City Hall or leading line dancing sessions that strengthened camaraderie among colleagues; NOW, THEREFORE,
