Acknowledging the Kansas City Urban Core Homes Show & Bus Tour and efforts of Tenesia Brown.

WHEREAS, this Bi-annual tour was created by Tenesia Brown, an avidly involved community leader since 2018. The tour was established to commemorate the passing of The Fair Housing Act of 1968 and fulfill an unfulfilled promise of homeownership for all; and
WHEREAS, the tour focuses on bringing resources and information to the community of Kansas City in order to ensure they are able to obtain homeownership; and
WHEREAS, this Bi-annual tour brings out 200 Kansas City residents every Spring and Fall and has helped to create nearly 500 new homeowners year to date; and
WHEREAS, this tour takes buses to at least 9 neighborhoods in the Kansas City area from Independence Avenue to Bannister Road and Main Street to 435 Highway that are affordable and renovated and decorated to show their beauty; and
WHEREAS, this Bi-annual event has grown every year and brings financial institutes to the Community that wouldn't ordinarily reach and highlights products and resources to help overcome the barriers to banking and homeownership; and
WHEREAS, Kansas City residents are also introduced to realtors who specialize in the Urban Core and allows residents to familiarize themselves with the home buying process and how to successfully maintain their home afterwards; and
WHEREAS, this event has had the continued support and participation of The City of Kansas City, The KCATA, Keys Realty Group Inc., and their agents and countless financial institutes and many Kansas Citians that come out to receive the information, resources and enjoy the bus tour event after event. It shows that the citizens are eager to learn how to obtain homeownership and see what the inner city has to offer; NOW, THEREFORE,
