Authorizing the Director of Water Services to execute a $2,000,000.00 construction contract with Leath & Sons, Inc., for the City Wide Supplemental Workforce - Fiscal Year 2027 project; authorizing two successive renewal options with further City Council approval; and establishing an ordinance effective date.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of the Water Services Department is authorized to execute Contract No. 1781 in the amount of $2,000,000.00 with Leath & Sons, Inc., for the City Wide Supplemental Workforce - Fiscal Year 2027, Project No. 81001049. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of Water Services.
Section 2. That the Director of Water Services Department is authorized to expend up to the sum of $2,000,000.00 from Account No. 27-8110-807790-611060-81001049, Sewers, to satisfy the cost of this contract.
Section 3. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute two successive one-year renewal options for this contract with additional Council approval with such funds as appropriated by the Council in future annual budgets.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall become effective May 1, 2026.
