BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Fire Chief is hereby authorized to accept a grant from the United States Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program in the amount of $1,909,090.91 for the purchase of 420 Portable Radios with a trunked radio system along with encryption capabilities. A copy of the grant award agreement in substantial form is on file with the Office of the Fire Chief.

Section. 2. That revenue in the following account of the General Grant Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

22-2580-230001-478396-G232022FG15257 Fire Grant Revenue $1,909,090.91

Section 3. That the sum of $1,909,090.91 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Grant Fund in the following account of the General Grant Fund:

22-2580-235006-E-G232022FG15257 Assist to Firefighters
(AFG) $1,909,090.91

Section 4. That the Fire Chief is authorized to expend $190,909.09 already appropriated in Fiscal Year 2021-22 budget Account No. 22-2301-231410-E, to satisfy the City's match of $190,909.09 per the awarded AFG.
