Congratulating the “Boxing-Ballerina”, Brijhana Epperson, on her many accomplishments in her boxing career.

WHEREAS, Brijhana began learning to box at the age of 4 years old; and
WHEREAS, Brijhana’s father, Courtney Epperson, is her coach and started teaching her to box in their garage; and
WHEREAS, Brijhana has had 20 bouts with 15 wins and 5 losses; and
WHEREAS, Brijhana has been registered with the USA Boxing Association for the past 3 years and is the first female boxer in Kansas City history to bring home gold from the USA Boxing National Championships; and
WHEREAS, Brijhana is 12 years old and already is a 2x USA Boxing National Champion; 1x Junior Olympic Champion; 1x Eastern Elite qualifier Champion and 1x National Silver Gloves Champion. Making her a 5x National Champion
WHEREAS, Brijhana will be competing in the National Silver Gloves Tournament in Independence, Missouri on February 3rd and is registered to compete in the youth fighters ages 9-15; and
WHEREAS, Brijhana has competed in this tournament for the past 3 years and has won 2 Silver medals and 1 Gold medal; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby congratulate Brijhana Epperson on her many accomplishments in her boxing career; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Brijhana with the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for her dedication and hard work to achieve her many successes in her short life.
