RESOLUTION - Honoring Cascone’s Italian Restaurant on their 70th year anniversary.

WHEREAS, Cascone’s, the quintessential Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Kansas City, has been a cherished culinary institution since 1954. This Italian food restaurant in KC has not only stood the test of time but has also evolved to meet the tastes of Kansas City natives while preserving its rich traditions. Owned and operated by the Cascone family for four generations, Cascone’s is a testament to the enduring power of family, tradition, and exceptional Italian cuisine; and

WHEREAS, honoring tradition and embracing innovation have made Cascone’s one of the top Italian restaurants in KC; and

WHEREAS, customers enjoy classic dishes and attentive service in a comfortable space with modern décor. Adaptation is also important. Cascone family members, young and old pay attention to contemporary tastes and participate in discussions to balance the restaurant’s traditions with fresh ideas. Making customers happy has been the key to keeping them coming back; and

WHEREAS, family photos in the lobby illustrate Sempre Famiglia - Family Forever - a phrase that appears on the adjacent wall plaque. Nearby, a framed Cascone’s full page newspaper ad dated April 26, 1956, underscores the sense of history here; and 

                       WHEREAS, more than tradition, Cascone’s success is artfully rooted in providing an exceptional culinary experience. Whether it’s a romantic dinner for two or a family gathering, Cascone’s creates an atmosphere of joy and connectedness while serving up the best Italian food in KC; and 

WHEREAS, from its humble beginnings more than seventy years ago, Cascone’s has become an integral part of Kansas City and the surrounding communities. The family’s origins trace back to Ragusa, a city near the southern coast of Sicily; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend their appreciation to Cascone Family for their role in serving the community; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that copies hereof be presented to members of the Cascone Family in token of the Mayor and Council’s recognizing the contributions of Cascone’s Italian Restaurant on their 70th anniversary.
