RESOLUTION - Honoring Sherae Honeycutt.

WHEREAS, Sherae Honeycutt has dedicated her career to public service, strategic communications, and advocacy, serving the residents of Kansas City with professionalism, integrity, and compassion; and
WHEREAS, as Press Secretary and City Spokeswoman for the City of Kansas City, Sherae provided leadership during some of the City’s most significant moments, helping ensure residents received timely, transparent, and accurate information during emergencies, major initiatives, and community events; and
WHEREAS, Sherae’s work strengthened communication and collaboration across City departments while elevating Kansas City’s voice through innovative storytelling, strategic public engagement, and a commitment to ethical communications practices; and
WHEREAS, prior to her service in local government, Sherae built an accomplished career as an Emmy-winning journalist, bringing experience from local and national newsrooms and using that expertise to better connect government with the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, Sherae’s personal journey, perseverance, and commitment to advocacy have inspired countless individuals, particularly young people and those overcoming adversity, demonstrating the power of resilience, education, and service to others; and
WHEREAS, through her leadership, mentorship, and dedication to excellence, Sherae has made a lasting impact on the Communications Department, the City organization, and the residents of Kansas City; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council wish to recognize Sherae Honeycutt’s meaningful contributions to Kansas City and express gratitude for her years of dedicated service; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby honor Sherae Honeycutt; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Sherae Honeycutt, with the sincere appreciation of the Mayor and Council for her lasting impact on Kansas City.
