RESOLUTION - Honoring Soileh Padilla Mayer, Consul of Mexico in Kansas City, for her distinguished service, leadership, and commitment to the Mexican, immigrant, and broader Kansas City communities.

WHEREAS, Soileh Padilla Mayer has served as Consul of Mexico in Kansas City since August 2022, providing diplomatic leadership and representing the Government of Mexico throughout the Kansas City region; and
WHEREAS, as Consul, Soileh Padilla Mayer has worked to assist and protect Mexican citizens and Mexican American families, strengthen community connections, and promote friendship, cooperation, and understanding between Mexico and the United States; and
WHEREAS, Consul Padilla Mayer has distinguished herself as a leader and advocate for immigrant and migrant communities, recognizing their courage, resilience, cultures, and contributions to Kansas City’s neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, cultural institutions, and economy; and
WHEREAS, Consul Padilla Mayer has championed the leadership and contributions of women, including Hispanic and migrant women, and emphasized the importance of advancing equality and expanding opportunities for future generations; and
WHEREAS, Consul Padilla Mayer has encouraged immigrant communities to recognize their voices, talents, cultures, and experiences as essential strengths of Kansas City, while working to ensure that Mexican citizens, Mexican American families, and other immigrant communities feel welcomed, respected, connected, and empowered to participate fully in the civic and cultural life of the region; and
WHEREAS, through her diplomatic service, community engagement, advocacy for immigrants, support for women and families, and commitment to developing future leaders, Soileh Padilla Mayer has strengthened the relationship between Mexico and Kansas City and contributed to a more connected, inclusive, and welcoming community; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize and honor Soileh Padilla Mayer, Consul of Mexico in Kansas City, for her distinguished service, leadership, and dedication to the Mexican, immigrant, and broader Kansas City communities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Soileh Padilla Mayer in token of the Mayor and Council’s appreciation for her service, leadership, and commitment to strengthening the bonds between Mexico, immigrant communities, and Kansas City, Missouri.
