RESOLUTION - Honoring Ora Reynolds for leadership in the development of the Northland.

WHEREAS, Ora Reynolds is the President and CEO of Hunt Midwest; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Reynolds worked her way up through Hunt Midwest in her 32-year tenure during which time SubTropolis, and the SubTropolis Technology Center, has grown to nearly 8 million square feet of leased space, Hunt Midwest Business Center opened over 1.3 million square feet of industrial buildings, over 7,000 residential lots have been platted and sold and their reach expanded to include self-storage, senior housing, multifamily, and developments in other geographic markets outside of Kansas City; and

WHEREAS, The forethought and development experience of Ms. Reynolds’ and her team led to the installation of sanitary sewers and pump stations resulting in the subsequent development of Twin Creeks, a 15,000 acre section of land which had previously been vacant and now has hundreds of millions of dollars in new or planned development projects including shopping centers, homes and apartments, and the newly opened sports complex; and

WHEREAS, Ora serves on corporate boards, numerous charitable and civic organizations and is currently the Co-Chair of the Kansas City Area Development Council board of directors, serves on the advisory board of Commerce Bank, the KU Advancement Board, and is a past chair of the board for Starlight Theater; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

                     That the Mayor and Council hereby honor Ora Reynolds for leadership in the development of the Northland; and

                     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Ora Reynolds with the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for her dedication and hard work in helping develop our community.
