Authorizing the purchase of approximately 8.223 acres of real property located at 5521 N.E. San Rafael Drive for parks purposes contingent upon approval of the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners; and authorizing acceptance of the deed to said property and an expenditure of $165,000.00 for the purchase.

WHEREAS, Gracemor-Randolph Community Council has offered to sell approximately 8.223 acres of real property located at 5521 N.E. San Ravel Drive (the “Property”) to the City for the appraised value of $165,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Property abuts the San Rafael Park and can be incorporated into the existing park; and
WHEREAS, improvements to the Property may include the demolition of the existing pool and pool house with future amenities to possibly include a loop trail system, pedestrian bridge, and additional parking; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the City approves contingent upon approval of the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners and authorizes the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners to accept the transfer of ownership of the real property described as:
All that part of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 34, Township 51, Range 32, in Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri, described as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 2, Block 14, as now of record on the recorded plat of Gracemor (2nd Plat), a subdivision of land in Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri; thence North 0 degrees 18 minutes 40 seconds West, 1059.34 feet parallel to the east line of said
Northeast 1/4 to a point 508.81 feet South of the North line of said Northeast 1/4; thence West, 622.42 feet; thence South 56 degrees 18 minutes 47 seconds West, 50.82 feet; thence South 7 degrees 31 minutes 11 seconds West, 200.20 feet; thence South 23 degrees 37 minutes 10 seconds East, 70.40 feet; thence South 64 degrees 58 minutes 06 seconds West, 141.09 feet to a point on the East line of North Skiles Avenue as shown in said Gracemor (2nd Plat); thence Southerly along said East line on a curve to the left with a radius of 475 feet, the tangent of which at said point has a bearing of South 22 degrees 00 minutes 53 seconds East, a distance of 50.02 feet; thence North 64 degrees 58 minutes 06 seconds East, 139.85 feet; thence South 23 degrees 37 minutes 10 seconds East, 53.72 feet; thence South 38 degrees

Section 2. That the sum of $165,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Special Gift Fund in the following account:
25-6490-707800-C-70250035 Special Gift Fund $165,000.00
Section 3. That the Director of Parks and Recreation is authorized to execute documents necessary to effectuate this transfer.
Section 4. That the Director of Parks and Recreation is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 25-6490-707800-C-70250035.
