Accepting funds allocated by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, FY 2021 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) in the amount of $302,291.00; estimating and appropriating $302,291.00 in the Justice Assistance Grant Fund; designating requisitioning authority; and authorizing cooperative agreement with Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission in the amount of $100,000.00.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Mayor and Council acknowledge and accept the funds allocated by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance for the 2021 Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $302,291.00, provided under an agreement with the fiscal agent for such grant, the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office.
Section 2. That the revenue in the following account of the 2021 Justice Assistance Grant Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:
23-2410-570001-476045-G57JAG21 Justice Assistance Grant $302,291.00
Section 3. That $302,291.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Justice Assistance Grant Fund to the following accounts:
23-2410-575301-A-G57JAG21 Justice Assistance Grant $176,204.00
23-2410-575301-B-G57JAG21 Justice Assistance Grant $126,087.00
TOTAL $302,291.00
Section 4. That the Director of Neighborhood Services is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 23-2410-575301-A-G57JAG21 and Account No. 23-2410-575301-B-G57JAG21.
Section 5. That the Director of Neighborhood Services is authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, a contract with Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission, in the amount of $100,000.00. The agreement is approved in substantial form, as that on file with the City Clerk.
