Authorizing the Director of Parks and Recreation to execute a professional services

contract with Renaissance Infrastructure Consulting to conduct a topographic survey for Little Blue Valley Park for a total contract amount of $33,400.00; and authorizing an

expenditure in the amount of $33,400.00 from funds previously appropriated.

WHEREAS, Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 200914 requires the City

Council to approve all professional service contracts; and

 

WHEREAS, the primary purpose of this contract is to provide accurate, existing conditions information that includes electronic topographic survey data showing property boundaries, types and sizes of existing on site and adjacent utilities, elevation contours at 6” intervals, existing ground surface types, materials and extents, and the 100- year floodplain; and

 

WHEREAS, the data from the topographic survey will be utilized as base information to develop improvements in Little Blue Valley Park that include a playground, a shelter, and an off- leash dog park; and

 

WHEREAS, the planned improvements are elements within the approved park master plan that was developed with public input from the citizens surrounding Little Blue Valley Park in 2017; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY

 

Section 1. That the Director of Parks and Recreation Department is authorized to execute a professional services contract for the total contract amount of $33,400.00 with Renaissance Infrastructure Consulting, for the purpose of performing a topographic survey for Little Blue Valley Park.

 

Section 2. Authorizing an expenditure in the amount of $33,400.00 from funds previously appropriated in Account No. 21-3090-708509-611060-70204915.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of

the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
