Recognizing August "Augie" Huber III for his many years of service to Kansas City.

WHEREAS, Augie Huber III has been the Chair of the Building and Fire Codes Board of Appeals for Kansas City for over 50 years, where he has aided in hearing appeals and making crucial decisions to protect the City and its Fire Department since 1972; and

WHEREAS, Augie has served as CEO of A.L. Huber Inc., one of Kansas City's leading general contractors, providing for the city for over 118 years with an exceptional standard for quality, integrity, and value built by the Huber family since 1903, helping create renowned spaces like the Kansas City Art Institute, the Sea Life Aquarium, and the Kansas City Zoo; and

WHEREAS, Augie also has helped greatly in the preservation of Kansas City's rich history, serving as a member of the Historic Kansas City Foundation, and is a well-known donor for the WWI museum, collecting and donating artifacts to the memorial so that all can enjoy; and

WHEREAS, Augie has served on the Board of Directors of Starlight Theater for over 20 years, leading Starlight through several major additions and renovations through the years; and

WHEREAS, Augie has supported and volunteered both his time and treasure with many Kansas City non-profit organizations that were all working to make Kansas City an even better place; and

WHEREAS, Augie has been a significant contributor to the art culture in Kansas City, even serving as the construction manager on the Christo wrapped walkways project in Loose Park; and

WHEREAS, Augie has selflessly given countless hours and efforts towards the good of Kansas City through his work in building and conserving the city's history; NOW, THEREFORE,
