Approving and authorizing settlement of the lawsuit entitled Ronald Williams v. City of Kansas City, Missouri, Case No. 1816-CV18116; and estimating and appropriating the sum of $1,000,000.00 for settlement of this lawsuit.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the payment of the sum of $1,400,000.00 in settlement of the lawsuit styled, Ronald Williams v. City of Kansas City, Missouri, Case No. 1816-CV18116, as recommended by the City Attorney and the Risk Management Committee, is hereby approved.
Section 2. Estimating revenue in the sum of $1,000,000 to the City Legal Expense Fund in the following account:
23-7010-131543-485760 Public Official Liability Claims $1,000,000.00
Section 3. Appropriating the sum of $1,000,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the City Legal Expense Fund in the following account:
23-7010-131543-B Public Official Liability Claims $1,000,000.00
Section 4. Appropriating the sum of $1,000,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Water Fund to the following account:
23-8010-801000-B Settlement of Claims $1,000,000.00
Section 5. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to pay the sum of $1,400,000.00 in settlement of said claims in this lawsuit from funds appropriated in Account No. 23-7010-131543-B, Public Official Liability.
