Honoring and recognizing Anthony Bush on his retirement from the Office of the City Attorney after 31 years of dedicated service to the City.

WHEREAS, Mr. Anthony Bush began his career with the City as an Assistant City Attorney in 1990 as a litigator, handling a variety of tort, e-tax, employment, Human Relations Department, unemployment cases, and worker’s compensation cases and successfully defending the City in countless cases; and

 

                      WHEREAS, Anthony has worked tirelessly in recent years as the lead worker’s compensation attorney and has provided thirty-one years of invaluable legal advice and exceptional public service along the way; and

 

                     WHEREAS, during his career, Anthony has developed expertise in worker’s compensation law; and

 

                     WHEREAS, throughout his career Anthony has evidenced the highest standard for professionalism, ethics and leadership in his community; and

 

                     WHEREAS, Anthony is devoted to his four children, who he looks forward to visiting in Oregon, California, Tennessee and Washington D.C. in his retirement along with his wife Kim; and

 

                     WHEREAS, Anthony has counseled the City and its elected officials in an exemplary manner, provided strong leadership and mentorship to his colleagues, and retires from the City with the sincere admiration and gratitude from the office’s attorneys and staff for his friendship and service; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

                     BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

                     That the Mayor and Council hereby extend their most sincere appreciation to Anthony Bush for his 31 years of distinguished and exceptional service to Kansas City, together with their heartiest best wishes for the future; and

 

                     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof, and that a copy hereof be presented to him in token of the grateful appreciation of the Mayor and Council for the excellent services and leadership provided by him to the City, its officers and employees, for so many years.
